Debate is necessary but the Truth must prevail, said Pope Benedict at the midweek General Audience.

Pope Benedict continued his reflection on the fathers of the Church on Wednesday, returning to St. Bernard of Clairvaux a 12th century Cistercian monk, considered to be one of the founders of the Cistercian oder and his outspoken defence of the faith.
After his reflection the Pope remembered John Paul II, Karol Wojtyla, on the feast day of St. Charles Borromeo. He also recalled don Oreste Benzi, founder of the Pope John 23rd Foundation who died two years ago, and encouraged those who continue with the works that he began for the needy.
Present at the audience were members of the "Children in Heaven" association which brings together parents of children who have died from illness or through road accidents.
